Remember a couple of weeks ago when I said that I’d made Adagio tea blends for Obi-Wan and Anakin? Well, I’ve finally finished futzing with them and they’re available for purchase, along with a Qui-Gon blend and a Padme blend. I’m pretty pleased with them, so hopefully some of you will be, too? ^_^
Obi-Wan is one of the richest, deepest characters in the Star Wars Universe. He has lived through so much, survived what so few others have. He is a teacher, a wise man, yet entirely humble; a perfect match for the soothing blend of Earl Grey Moonlight, cream, and vanilla. Yet beneath that soft, gentle exterior also beats the heart of a warrior with a wicked sense of humor, and so this blend has a little kick of ginger.
Qui-Gon Jinn was a Jedi Master who followed his own path, regardless of whether or not the Council approved. Steeped in the Living Force, he fought to protect life, no matter what the cost. A maverick to the end, he found a way to become part of the Living Force and help those he’d left behind, even after his own death. His embodiment of the Living Force and his eternal life are represented by a mix of green teas, fruit flavors, and white eternal spring, with a maverick streak of spice, just like he had.
Anakin Skywalker is a man of strong feelings. Even at his calmest, he is volatile, practically seething with the potential for action. He has a fire in his heart that will not easily be quenched, yet there is sweetness and love burning in the embers. That makes the dark, sweet and tangy Earl Grey Bravo mixed with the spice of masala chai, cinnamon, and cloves a fitting mix for Anakin.
At the tender age of 14, Padme became Amidala, Queen of Naboo. Not long thereafter, she became embroiled in a fight for the very life of her people, her planet, and herself. Strong and courageous, passionate and elegant, Padme is a study in contradictions, but at the core of her is a fierce intelligence and a deep love for others. She is never one to sit back and let others do the fighting for her. She is on the frontlines of every battle, whether it be with a blaster in hand or her vote in the Senate. This tea pairs the gentle, soothing elegance of cream and forest berries with the spice of white chai and cloves, just like Padme.
