Updating the to-do list

So, thanks to a really hectic week and a minor meltdown, I didn’t get as much done as I wanted and managed to add several new things to the pile, so let’s try this again…

  • Work Stuff
    • Read the next four chapters of the textbook so you’re actually ready to teach them.
    • Come up with lesson plan ideas for the next week of class.
    • Fix the damned schedule you fucked up writing and send it to the class.
      • (Seriously, how the fuck did I do that?  I CHECKED THE THING TEN TIMES.  *headdesk*)
    • Post the mini-lesson rubric.
    • Get an attendance spreadsheet together.

      • Write second section.

    • Email shoe company to let them know what you want to do about the shoes.
    • Send 2015 tax info to other insurance.
    • Open your fucking mail.  It’s piling up.
    • The pile ‘o’ clothes is reaching scary heights, again.  PUT IT AWAY, ALREADY.

    • Answer trailing writing meme asks.
    • Check on your garden.
    • Make plans with dad and with Karen to see ST.
    • Back up your tumblr to a WordPress
    • Get your queue sorted, already.  It’s a mess.
      • …it’s a bit pathetic that those last two legitimately fall under the ‘fun’ category.  It’s a bit pathetic that half the time these days ‘fun’ = ‘things that might bright my stress level down just a hair’ instead of things that are actually fun.  😛

NOT BAD FOR A DAY’S WORK.  (And thanks again, @takethewatch!)

Now I need to shower and get dressed and head to class.  Happy Bastille Day, everyone!  ^_^

@takethewatch replied to your post “It’s that time again…”

yikes! that’s a lot! but i’m sure it’ll be helpful to have it all laid out so neatly. good luck with whatever part of it you take on today! ^_^

The only reason I’m not overwhelmed by it is that this really is the plan for like… the next 2 months.  So the vast majority of it doesn’t have to get done immediately, you know?  Like my plan for today is to get my syllabus and assignments and rubrics squared away (Which I’m almost done with already, BTW!) and to try to get some of the “adulting” category stuff done, because really that’s just photocopying and mailing stuff.  (Why my executive dysfunction kicks in so hard over shit that’s that easy, though, I HAVE NO IDEA, but that’s the stuff I find most difficult.  O_o;;;)  And once that’s out of the way, I have a little breathing space.

(It also helps that I cleaned my desk off from all the weaving detritus.  ^_~)

But you want to know something really weird?  Objectively I know that I always have a lot on my plate, but I always feel like I’m such a slacker.  Because I feel like, “Oh, I only work part-time and really what do I have to be so stressed about, so many people have it worse than I do, stop whining.”
And it’s only when I lay it out like this that I realize that YEAH, THAT
IS A HUGE AMOUNT OF STUFF I NEED TO DO and it’s like suddenly all my
stress and anxiety makes a bit more sense and it’s like “OK, I guess I am allowed to feel overwhelmed.”  Which is kind of messed up.  That I don’t notice exactly how much is on my plate until someone else points it out or I write it up like this.  O_o;;;

*coughs*  Anyway.  I should shush and get back to my syllabus.  ^_^

Thanks for the good wishes!

    • Qual
      • Write memo 14
      • Write memo 15
      • Added:
        • memo #1 which I never did from last semester
      • Write 1st article review
      • Write research proposal
      • Write 2nd article review
      • Write research paper
      • CRY A WHOLE LOT BECAUSE THERE’S NO WAY IN FUCK THAT’S HAPPENING BY TOMORROW.

Right.  So, after my massive freakout earlier tonight, another anxiety attack, and three separate crying jags (thank you again, @dreamer-wisher-liar for helping to talk me down), I have made more progress.

Literally the only things I have left are the two article reviews (FUCK THOSE, SERIOUSLY), and my research paper.  I could have gotten the research paper done tonight, since the beginning half is literally just the proposal with the tenses changed and with changes accounted for, and the second half is basically what I outlined for my presentation, so that’s done except for fleshing it out, but there’s a section for the article reviews and if I couldn’t do those, I couldn’t hand it in anyway, so I decided to fudge my way through the trailing memo from last semester that I never did because I didn’t read the book.

*coughs* *tiny voice* I still haven’t read the book.  Hopefully she won’t be able to tell that.  I mean… she never figured it out from the memo about the other book.  So… *crosses fingers*

But literally, I have two article reviews and half a research paper standing between me and BEING DONE WITH THIS SHIT and I really hope that my professor can straighten me out tomorrow because if not, I don’t know what the fuck I’m going to do.  😦

On the upside… LOOK AT HOW MUCH I FUCKING ACCOMPLISHED TODAY, HOLY SHIT.

I’m actually kind of impressed.  O_o;;;

And yet I still somehow feel like I accomplished NOTHING… because I didn’t get those article reviews done.  FUCK, I HATE MY BRAIN SOMETIMES.  *sigh*

Well… got the two memos done?  *headdesk*

Of course, now I’m starting to feel all shaky and twitchy and nauseous and just… not good.  I tried making some tea to calm me down, but I think the caffeine is actually making it worse for a change which NEVER HAPPENS.

I emailed the professor to tell her that I did the two memos and she’ll probably get my first article review by tomorrow and the rest by next week, so that should have decreased my anxiety, but I JUST WANT THIS DONE.  I WANT IT DONE AND I’M SO STRESSED OUT OVER IT AND IF I TAKE A BREAK NOW I WILL NEVER GET BACK TO IT AND–

*deep breath*  This is not helping.

Indulging the anxiety spiral NEVER helps.

I’m going to go feed my cat dinner and sit with him for a few minutes and hope that helps.  Then I’m going to come back and try my hand at this fucking article review again.  The worst thing that will happen is I don’t get it done tonight.  And that’s not the end of the world.  I’m OK.
