I have been bemoaning the fact that my theatrical edition VHS tapes of the SW original trilogy are boxed up somewhere in the basement since SW:TFA first came out.

It ONLY JUST OCCURRED TO ME THAT I COULD PROBABLY TORRENT THOSE SUCKERS.

So I did.  *hums happily*  ^______^

I’ve officially fallen down the rabbit hole.

I’ve made Adagio blends for Obi-Wan and Anakin.  -.-;;;  So far they’re private blends, because I want to get samples and try them out before making them public, but once I’ve tried them, I’ll open them up to everyone else and maybe make more.

@dreamer-wisher-liar, I’m pretty sure this is all your fault, JSYK.

PSA to my followers:
*coughs*  So… I just realized that Star
Wars wasn’t even listed among fandoms that I reblog often.  I HAVE FIXED
THAT.  Especially as my blog seems to basically be half Star Wars these
days.  O_o;;;

To those of you not here for Star Wars, I
apologize.  I know this isn’t what you signed up for.  If it makes you
feel better, it surprised me, too.  SW has been background radiation for
my entire life.  I was born the year after ANH was released in
theatres, my father introduced me to the movies as soon as he could
record them off TV, and I watched them pretty often throughout my
childhood and young adulthood.  They were go-to/comfort movies.

Then
the prequels came out when I was in college and vet school and I fell
HARD AND FAST for Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan and Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon.
That obsession lasted for a good year or two and was one of my main
fandoms at the time.  Then an Obi-Wan/Anakin obsession supplanted it.
Then finally my fandom levels fell back into that background radiation
level I’d always known them to be.

Then the rumors about a new
movie started and I… shrugged.  I admit it.  I shrugged.  I thought,
“Yeah, I’ll see it and I’m kind of excited for it, but… eh.  It’s not a
priority.”  Then the weekend before I finally got to see it, I
marathoned the first six movies.  AND FELL IN LOVE WITH OBI-WAN ALL
OVER, AGAIN.  AND IT IS A PROBLEM.  BECAUSE ALONG WITH HIM COMES EVERYONE ELSE.
AND I AM FULL OF ALL THESE STAR WARS FEELS AND I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO
WITH THEM SO I’M JUST REBLOGGING EVERYTHING AND CRYING OVER IT AND I’M
SURE THERE WILL BE FIC AND–

…basically I’m so so sorry to those
of you who aren’t here for this.  I’d like to tell you it will pass
quickly, but… I’m beginning to think it won’t.  Not if I’m building
fic in my head already.  And since this is the first fic plotting I’ve
done in over a year that hasn’t been painful and terrifying, I think I’m
going to try to run with it and see where it goes.

I’m not
leaving Les Mis behind, though.  I promise, I’m not.  I’m definitely not
done with those boys, either.  But yeah… you should probably expect
my queue to be a little Star Wars heavy in between Les Mis posts for the
next little while.

Sorry?

So, the other day I saw a post (I think it was @thehumantrampoline’s?) about name pronunciation in the original SW trilogy and it made me wonder if I’d been getting it wrong all along (for the record, I say Hahn and LAY-uh). Having just finished rewatching A New Hope, here’s the verdict:

Han Solo
Hahn: x4 (including his own introduction of himself)

Leia
LEE-uh: x2 (General Tarkin and the Rebel base commander)
Carrie: x1 (Luke) – my favorite line flub of any movie ever, BTW. ;D

Well… I was half right? ^_^

I’ll keep you posted as I work my way through the other movies. ^_^

I’m seriously intrigued that you’re hearing it Hahn?? like I remember the first time I noticed it I went “they keep saying it like Ann!!” and the person I was with was like “no way, that’s not–wait YOURE RIGHT” and now I wonder if there’s a bit of projected regional accent at work????

Could be! But I’m definitely hearing it as Hahn. And I FINALLY found a part in ESB where Leia introduces herself (when they get to Cloud City), and even though everyone else has been pronouncing it LEE-uh, she just introduced herself as LAY-uh, and Lando repeats her pronunciation. Now, THAT is interesting!

@inkgeek I’m friggin laughing oh my god I need a fanfic INSTANTLY about everyone mispronouncing Leia’s name and Lando is the only one who gets it right so as revenge for her he starts mispronouncing Han’s name and Han is just like “?????? WHATD I EVER DO TO YOU”

OMG. XD I WANT THIS FIC, TOO. And, of course, once Lando starts the Han mispronunciation, Leia jumps on board, because Han’s been teasing her all along and she’d like to get a bit of her own back. ;D I APPROVE.

Ok, what? After pronouncing it Hahn until now, Leia just called Han ‘Hann’ after the torture scene. So… Pronunciation transfer? O_o I have no idea.
