How do much do I ship it?: Never heard of it/ Notp / Dislike / used to ship / maybe / ship it / aww / otp / IS IT CANON YET?
What non sexual activities do they like to do together?
Who does chores around the house?
Who’s the better cook?
Who’s the funniest drunk?
Do they have kids?
Do they have any traditions?
What do they fight about?
What would they do if they found their paring tag on tumblr? (If they have one)
Who cried at the end of Marley and me?
Who always wins at Mario kart?
One thing I like about this ship?
One thing I don’t like about the ship?
The song I would say fits them?
Another headcanon about the paring? (Free space)
(Please feel free to add more if you are asking people to do this with you.)
oooh, i like these! Also since none of these are romantic-pairs-specific (except maybe the first one ? but I can work with that) I’m totally taking prompts for non-romantic pairs or groups, (friends, family, whatever) too!
Yessssssssssss. ^____________^ OK, so we’ve discussed this many times before but Enjolras/Feuilly is definitely a ‘10′ ship for me (maybe an ‘11′ by now? XD). ^_^ They’re just too adorable because they respect and admire each other SO MUCH and can you imagine how good they’d be for each other? I mean, they both suck at self-care because they get too wrapped up in their causes, but they’d be SO GOOD at taking care of each other. *_*
But it took them a long time to get there.
They have such a slow courtship. Seriously. SO. SLOW.
When they first met, Feuilly was very closed off emotionally. He was passionate, sure, but he didn’t open up about himself much. He was quick to take up a cause, but slow to let anyone else in. He’d lost too much in his life and he’d been hurt too often and it had turned him shy of making new friendships. And he’d been so focused on getting out and doing better for himself that romance just never seemed to be in the cards.
Enjolras, OTOH, was an open book… he’d just never really thought about dating much.
There were always other things
which took precedence – school, friends, injustice. Who had time for
romance, right?
If pressed he’d have
said that he was asexual and aromantic, since a history of a lack of interest must mean something, right?
But when he meets Feuilly, they just *click*.
Pfft. No, they don’t.
(More behind the cut because this is getting long and turning into a mini-fic, good grief. O_o;;;)
When Enjolras and Feuilly first meet, they admire each other from a distance. Feuilly respects Enjolras, looks up to him as a leader and upperclassman, but he’s learned that someone who looks that good from a distance hardly ever is from close up. So, he’s afraid to get too close, even if he can’t deny that there’s something compelling about Enjolras, especially when he’s all riled up from speechmaking.
As for Enjolras, he’s absolutely floored by Feuilly’s passion and his willingness to do whatever it takes to help out, no matter how much else he has on his plate. But every time he tries to talk to him, he ends up tripping over his tongue in the worst possible ways. (Seriously, it’s SO PAINFULLY AWKWARD – think Shang in Mulan “…you fight good.” level of awkward. SO. AWKWARD.) Every bit of his eloquence deserts him.
What Enjolras doesn’t know, however, is that every single time he trips over himself trying to talk to Feuilly… Feuilly gets that much more comfortable around him. Because, hey look, he’s not perfect. He messes up. He blushes. One time he even squeaked, he was so embarrassed. (Combeferre heard about that one in great detail later. From both of them. And both had their faces buried in their hands when they relayed the story, and related it in equally high pitched tones… just for entirely different reasons. He found it hilarious.)
It takes them over a year before they can manage a full conversation that consists of more than “Hello!” and “Great speech!” and “OK, bye!” But once that ice is broken, it is BROKEN. They find that they more interests in common than they ever would have guessed. They eventually start staying after meetings for hours, often closing out the bar in their zeal for conversation. Two years after their first meeting, they’re as comfortable with each other as it’s possible for two people to be with each other. They’re each other’s first phone call when they’re in trouble, or when they have good news, or when they’re upset… or when they wake up in the morning.
And Enjolras, who never had time or interest in romance or sex, and Feuilly who was too angry and bitter to even contemplate it… find their opinions changing. Glances linger just a little longer. Touches become a little more intimate. Smiles soften just a hair. And five years after their first meeting when people start assuming that they’re dating… they simply smile and don’t bother to correct them.
you know, in my head it’s always kind of a choice beween enjolras/feuilly and courfeyrac/feuilly, but.
enjolras/courfeyrac/feuilly.
you can get all the multiships! because then you can have combeferre/bahorel/prouvaire, which is amazing and honestly a little dangerous, and j/b/m/r, which we all know is the real ot4.
E – Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what
I honestly don’t think I have? I don’t tend to write much humor. And even my ideas that start out as crack end up Very Serious. -.-;;;
P – Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas)
A random AU for any fandom? OK, so I’ve knocked this one around in my head more than once, but I haven’t posted much about it. I would LOVE to see a Cal Leandros/Nightlife AU for Les Mis. Mainly because I want to write a Goodfellow!Courfeyrac SO BADLY. SO SO BADLY. I actually wrote a tiny snippet of it as part of a writing meme if anyone’s interested. ^_~
OH HEY. Apparently I did also write a bit of crack!AU in that same post. Canon era!Combeferre wakes up mid Act I of Memphis in Killian’s body and meets Fra. *laughs* I forgot about that! ;D
Q – A ship you’ve abandoned and why
Oh, no. I haven’t COMPLETELY abandoned this ship, because it’s kind of impossible to in this fandom, but… you know what? This is going to get me in so much trouble, so how about it goes behind a cut?
e/R. -.-;;; I came into this fandom through the e/R gateway, and I still have some nostalgic feelings for them, I still write them on occasion, and I certainly still enjoy Joe and Jason e/Ring all over each other at the drop of a hat, but I just really don’t see those characters that way anymore? Part of that is that more and more, Grantaire is my precious aro/ace bb, and part of that is that the fandom is just so flooded with e/R and I was starting to want more variety, because at heart, I’m a multi-shipper. But yeah, I’m definitely not on that bandwagon anywhere near the way I used to be. Sorry!
FINALLY GETTING AROUND TO THIS @kingesstropolis! 😀 Sorry that took so long.
This was initially for a “Send me a ship and I will explain why I do or don’t ship it“ meme. If anyone else wants to send ships, feel free. ^_^
1. Courfeyrac/Combeferre
OMG, I SHIP IT. EXPEDITED, WORLDWIDE AND POSSIBLY INTO OUTER SPACE. *_*
As for why… that’s a harder question to answer? I think it boils down to the fact that I’m a sucker for the friends-to-lovers trope. And that actually brings me around to the fact that that makes NO SENSE for me whatsoever. Because I’m aro and ace af, so you’d think I’d be far more invested in friends who stay friends (a la Garcia and Morgan in Criminal Minds) than in ones who become lovers? And that’s something that’s baffled me for a while, actually, until now when I forced myself to sit down and think about it. (So, thanks for that! ;D)
Anyway, I think the point is… I don’t really understand romance. I don’t understand romantic attraction. I don’t understand why romance is AT ALL APPEALING. I really, really don’t. But in a friends-to-lovers situation, it’s two people who are such close friends that the transition to lovers doesn’t really involve much transition. They’re still best friends. They’re just best friends who do this other thing, too. And being friends with someone is something I DO understand. It gives me an understanding and an investment in that relationship in a way that straight up “we’re just suddenly in love via lightning bolt attraction” never will. This is a dynamic I understand, even if there are sexytimes thrown in, too. ^_^
2. Bahorel/Jehan
OMG, MY LOVELY POETRY SMASH BOYS, HELLO, YES, I SHIP YOU. ^_____^
In this case, it’s all about a fascination with opposites, TBH, both within the characters themselves and between the two of them. Because Bahorel is a rough and tumble brawler. He’s tearing up paving stones and starting revolutions and screw the law school, yeah? But he’s also a flaneur. He’s a dandy who likes good clothes (and is knowledgeable about them), and loves nothing more than to loaf around Paris and enjoy the finer things in life–cafes, theatre, and so on.
Then you have Jehan. Jehan, who writes poetry, likes cats, and loves nothing more than to lay in a field of flowers and stare at clouds. He buries his head in his studies and dresses badly. He’s a sweet, gentle, loving soul and a Romantic… but he has his moments when “his voice was ordinarily delicate, but suddenly grew manly.” And he’s a shade softer than Combeferre, who is a DUAL-PISTOL WIELDING BADASS. Not to mention the bravery he shows at the barricade, because THERE’S NO REASON TO TALK ABOUT THAT, RIGHT, BECAUSE EVERYBODY LIVES.
*coughs* So you have these two people who are, in themselves, polar opposites, and are also polar opposites of each other and I love trying to figure out how they’d meet in the middle of that. ^_^
