So first of all, I 100% agree with everything said above. Padme was totally underrated, as was her job within the narrative of the prequels. That’s not what I want to talk about though.
I want to talk about her hair.
Specifically this hairdo in the above shot. Because I’m looking at that hairdo–one of the simplest I’ve ever seen her wear when in Queen/Senator mode–and do you know what I’m seeing?
I’m seeing this:
…and trying to figure out if I’m just thinking too much into things when I wonder if that’s an intentional allusion. Because if this is the moment when Padme breaks, if this is the moment when the Republic dies for her… is it not also the moment when the Rebellion is born?
…I’ve been thinking a lot about that recently.
