let me tell you about the amazing potential of Cosette and Feuilly as foster siblings opening a coffee shop together
It has a large counter in a U shape, and one half of it is decidated to the coffee and the other to the tea; there are plants and dainty tea cups and feature art and crafts from local people, which Cosette and Feuilly still personally pick and they have impeccable taste
it’s all open space and large tables, there are workshop organised every week – first it’s their friends teaching whoever wants to come about skills, relaxation techniques, or discussions about what’s happening in the world, but it ends up being so popular they have an actual schedule and a website to book your place in one of these workshops
they have poetry nights, too
Cosette makes the sweetest hot chocolates and chai lattes and Feuilly’s so good with latte art
they hire pretty much anyone who needs a job, no matter what their pasts or experiences are – that’s how Marius ended up learning how to make pastries, and he’s good at it
they have a suspended coffee system that never go under a dozen suspended coffees available
because Valjean’s not getting any younger, he feels bad about not being able to do as much as before, and Cosette and Feuilly know he’s getting a bit lonely, so they 100% include him in their venture and he works there part time and he loves it and he meets people and talk to them and I’m so happy guys I just want Jean Valjean to be happy that’s the only thing that matters
“Open
your baskets! The ingredients you must use in your dish are…”
Enjolras
sets the remote control on the coffee table, next to an empty pint of
Ben & Jerry’s and two spoons resting on the upturned ice cream
lid. Chopped is a show that they can both agree on; Enjolras likes
to learn new tricks he can use in the kitchen (he really is
getting better at cooking, he insists as Courfeyrac teases him),
while Courfeyrac enjoys most any kind of reality competition show.
The
two of them had been sitting together on the couch, with Courfeyrac’s
head on Enjolras’s shoulder. When Enjolras sits back again after
setting down the remote, Courfeyrac leans against him and rests his
head where it had been before, snuggling close to him. Enjolras’s
hand comes to rest on top of Courfeyrac’s, and he rubs his thumb
gently against the back of his friend’s hand.
After
a moment, Courfeyrac lifts his head. Enjolras looks over at him,
curious, and the look on Courfeyrac’s face is not one he recognizes.
Courfeyrac takes a deep breath.
“Enjolras.”
Another breath. “Um.”
“Yes?”
Enjolras is even more curious now. Courfeyrac’s tone of voice
doesn’t worry him, exactly, but it makes him feel uncertain.
The
next few words sound as cautious as Enjolras feels. “What are we?”
Enjolras
definitely looks confused. But Courfeyrac barely gives him time to
think before backpedalling. “Scratch that. Don’t answer that.
I’m sorry.” His hand stiffens under Enjolras’s, and he looks down
at it, then back up at Enjolras, as if to ask if this was still okay.
Enjolras
smiles that gentle smile of his, the one that warms something in
Courfeyrac’s chest, and squeezes his hand. “It’s all right.”
Courfeyrac
shakes his head. “No, I’m sorry. It’s just I’ve never done
anything like this before. I don’t really do the romance thing, and
I know you’ve said you don’t either, but it’s—.”
Enjolras
leans in quickly to kiss Courfeyrac on the cheek. It works as he
intended, and Courfeyrac cuts himself off mid-sentence. “It’s
really all right. Honestly, I don’t have a word for this either.
But… that’s fine, yeah?”
Courfeyrac’s
eyebrows flash up for a brief moment, then sighs with relief. “Yeah.
Yeah, that’s fine.”
Enjolras
nestles back into the couch and pats his shoulder. “Come on, the
judging’s about to start.”
Courfeyrac
laughs and flops back down, his head finding Enjolras’s shoulder as
his hand reaches for his friend’s hand.
I’m working on others fanarts (both, traditionals and digitals) about the Clone Wars, but meanwhile, I made this one based on a random pic of Ewan McGregor
During a promotional event in Australia, actor John Cho confirmed that beloved Star Trek character Hikaru Sulu is gay. According to Cho, writer Simon Pegg and director Justin Lin decided to make Sulu canonically gay in the upcoming movie, Star Trek Beyond. The reason why will warm your emotionless, Vulcan heart.
Sulu was originally played by George Takei, who in later life has become a prominent activist forLGBT rights. In a tribute to his ongoing legacy as an icon of the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek Beyond writer Simon Pegg and director Justin Lin decided make Sulu canonically gay in the upcoming movie.
“I liked [Pegg and Lin’s] approach, which was not to make a big thing out of it, which is where I hope we are going as a species, to not politicize one’s personal orientations,” Cho said.
Marius feels a thrill of apprehension as he hears a knocking
at his door over the howling of the wind. It isn’t a storm yet, not truly, but
neither is it a night to be about without business. And what business would
anyone have with him? Not a visitor then – perhaps a neighbor? That thought
does little to quiet Marius’ concerns, given what little he’s seen of them.
But when he opens his door, he finds the ever-smiling face
of Courfeyrac, soaked through and holding out a coat and umbrella – both
miraculously no more than damp.
“Ah, I am delighted to find you at home!” declares
Courfeyrac. “I doubt I’ll be back this way today if I can help it. I was
passing through on my way to visit some associates and wished to pay my
respects.”
“Some…associates,” says Marius, doubtfully.
Courfeyrac waves a hand in dismissal of the implied
question, sending drops of rain flying. “I must introduce you soon – but never
mind that. I have discovered that this coat is the wrong color for me, and the
cut unflattering. But it would favor you – your build is more classical than
mine and your coloring a match for darker shades. Won’t you take it and spare
me the trouble of throwing it away?”
“I don’t want charity,” says Marius firmly. He may be cold,
and his old coat nearly as full of holes as his rooms are, but he stands on
that. He catches himself looking longingly at the proffered coat and umbrella
and makes himself look Courfeyrac in the face instead.
“Don’t call it charity,” says Courfeyrac mildly, “it’s no
more than a small favor to me if you take it. I do hate to waste such nice
fabric. And if you want to make the favor double, you may aid me by taking this
umbrella before my friends see it. They will tease me mercilessly.
Marius isn’t sure he believes him, but he takes the coat and
umbrella anyway, already feeling a little warmer for reasons he can’t explain.
I AM 100% OK WITH THIS TURNING INTO A CM FIC. 😀 And, AW, Courfeyrac, how utterly transparent can you be?? ^______^ AWWWWWW. Seriously, everything about this made me smile. Thank you!!
Last weekend I got to visit @oilan, so we decided to take advantage of the opportunity to do a traditional art collab! You can probably tell that she did the lines and I did the colors on this one. Per oilan, “This started as a drawing of Courfeyrac dressing Marius, because I know you like that, but it turned into Courfeyrac undressing Marius.” Not to worry, I appreciate that just as much. I convinced her to draw the Super Secret Ship bwahahaha
AHHH THIS TURNED OUT GREAT. I love Marius’ waistcoat and the romantic ethereal background especially. 😀
(Lol, let’s play the game ‘Where is Courfeyrac’s Other Hand Going?’)
Well, I may not need Superman to be a hero, but I will always need you.
Look, if she is mad at you ‘cause she thinks that you’re not looking after me, then tell her the truth. That your entire career, everything you’ve ever done in your life, it’s all been to protect me.
